Product Overview

Strata SLR5000 Handheld Pro Series Laser Welder

The handheld laser welders feature advanced "small core diameter" laser technology and incorporate a new dual-circuit refrigerant direct cooling system and an integrated structural design. They offer exceptional performance with high effectiveness, deep penetration, superior energy efficiency, and remarkable convenience. These versatile welders can work on various metal materials, including aluminium, stainless steel, carbon steel, galvanized sheets, and brass. They are ideal for various applications, such as welding building materials, sheet metal, pipeline processing, home electrical appliances manufacturing and crafting kitchen and bathroom hardware.

Key Features

  • Produce aesthetically pleasing welds with exceptional penetration - capable of welding from 0.2mm up to 9.0mm in most metals
  • Excellent performance with high speed and efficiency - 6 to 10 times faster than TIG welding on thinner materials!
  • Usually no need for secondary processing like weld cleaning, deburring, grinding or buffing with workpieces that have been laser welded - saving significant time and cost
  • Very low heat spreading beyond the weld bead area ensuring very little discoloration of materials and no warping caused by heat
  • Low gas usage - Argon gas flow requirements for shielding the weld from impurities can be reduced to significantly lower levels than traditional welding methods, saving on gas expenses
  • Capable of continuous operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Designed to withstand high and low temperatures, fault-free from -20°C to 60°C
  • Excellent improvement on welding fume emissions, saving the environment as well as helping to protect the operator from the effects of harmful fumes
  • Super simple and intuitive setup for varying material thicknesses and welding positions
  • Great option for joining dissimilar metals in sections
  • Ultra-compact welding torch - up to 40% lighter, only 595 grams! Ergonomic torch design protects against operator fatigue in long run production scenarios
  • Eight separate built in safety checks, protecting both the operator and also guaranteeing the integrity of the weld
  • App adjustment and control available for welding parameters and troubleshooting/setup tips
  • Typical applications that have proven amazing cost savings, productivity and weld reliability gains are: sheet metal production, stainless steel tank production, aluminium fabrication, sculpture industry, ducting production, signage production, automated parts welding, trailer fabrication, medical equipment production and embossed sheets
  • Includes Handheld laser welder power source, operation manual, laser torch cable, workpiece clamp lead, wire feeder unit, protection glass, nozzles, protective spectacles and welding gloves

Understanding Shielding Gases for Superior Laser Welding Results

04/04/2025 / Welding Equipment

In laser welding, shielding gas plays a critical role in improving weld quality by preventing oxidation, reducing spatter, and enhancing the stability of the weld pool. The three leading shielding gases used are Nitrogen, Argon, and helium, each with distinct benefits depending on the materials and welding conditions. Nitrogen improves strength in stainless steel but can cause brittleness in carbon steel, while Argon is cost-effective and widely used for its low reactivity. Helium, although expensive, is ideal for precise, high-quality welds. The correct gas flow rate and blowing angle ensure optimal weld penetration and surface finish. By selecting the appropriate shielding gas and applying it correctly, welders can achieve smoother, stronger welds, enhancing overall productivity and quality in industrial applications.
